Aaron King Vaughn started playing violin at 4 years old, but also quickly gained interest in other instruments like the piano, drums, and singing. In 7th grade he was given the opportunity to conduct the finale piece at an orchestra concert. He didn’t realize it then but that experience would change his life forever.

Based in Florida, Aaron King Vaughn is the Assistant Conductor of Sinfonia Gulf Coast under Maestro Demetrius Fuller and is Music Director for the Sinfonia Youth Orchestras. Notably, Vaughn is also a Project Inclusion Freeman Conducting Fellow with the Chicago Sinfonietta under Mastra Mei Ann Chen. In July of 2021 Vaughn placed in the Semifinals round of the International Lliria City of Music Conducting Competition. He has been invited to the PRISMA Conducting Fellowship, the International Institute for Conductors, and was an assistant conductor finalist for the National Repertory Orchestra. Vaughn gained extensive experience working with collegiate orchestras while earning his Masters in Orchestral Conducting (2017 - 2019) at The Florida State University College of Music, under the direction of Dr. Alexander Jiménez.

Working with Youth Orchestras has been a monumental part of Vaughn’s development as he has worked with Tallahassee Youth Orchestras, Sarasota Youth Orchestras, and Sinfonia Youth Orchestras. He also was recently named the Senior Conductor for the Luzurne Music Center and Assistant Conductor for the Blue Lake Fine Arts Festival. As an active violinist Vaughn has played principal positions with Bradenton Symphony Orchestra, Panama City Symphony Orchestra, and Sinfonia Gulf Coast. Some of his outside hobbies include traveling, reading, and playing chess.
